November 30th (Athena)

- You were here so you knew what I did lol but...
- Edited some stuff on the website
- Debbie going through the MFNSA numbers she will let us know
- Once we get the numbers we have to contact the group to see what the prize will be because they haven't told us yet!
- I edited some stuff on that exam task sheet so take a look =) We will need to break it down into approximate numbers. I was talking to Debbie and mentioned the IC manual in passing and she said not to add too many extra hours for it because we will have scheduled hours in Jan to work on it =S
Here is what we talked about in the meeting today so that we don't forget anything (like CAD days lol!)
- IC manual due at end of Feb  (latest)
- Customer appreciation week (3rd-6th)
      - Krystin will be coming in on the 2nd to setup the desk
      - Krystin will work the hour at the desk on Tuesday and Thursday, Athena will do Wednesday and Friday
      - We will need to determine which hour (same every day) that we will be having the giveaways. I was thinking lunchtime, like 12-1 depending on our schedules
      - Find out how many water bottles we can give out from Debbie and how many YukYuk tickets we will have

EDIT: Spoke to Al who asked to make sure that all of the funds were sent to the account he wanted, its attached to the hoffman contract in the folder of in-the-works contracts. He said he mentioned this to you before so he wants to make sure that the account codes are correct before the money goes through accounting. I dont see the code on the internal transfer sheet you did for Hoffman, but I dont understand the sheets anyways!

- Debbie just finished a bunch of contracts but I cant even photocopy them and submit the cheque recs because the photocopier is broken, boo. Will have to do this in the AM.

- Maroons and Lights have over/short numbers. Lights is short 3, maroons short 1.

- I spoke to marn and got numbers for the budget. Take a look and look at some of those paper cutters too and put down your vote. Ill keep an eye out for other ones.

Monday (krystin)

-We got in Charity Ball tickets. They gave us 25 even though we only asked for 21. I put the spare 4, yours, and Edgars in the middle locked cupboard. Debbie suggested I put everyone's name on theirs so we can track them and make sure our staff get them. The ones for the staff are in the back office. There is a note telling them to take theirs and initial beside their name. I also sent out an email letting them all know they are there. Please note our newfound marriage. I guess you really do wear the pants...

-I took off old stuff from the slideshow and the website, off the EOD and off the float (new float sheets now made - they look so empty! tear!)

-I moved the Framed stuff to thge bottom drawer. The stubs and tickets are in the manilla envelope, and the pick up contract is clipped to it. Anne is picking them up with the cheque. Additionally, the sharpies and stuff are back in the top drawer.. they keep shoving more stuff into the middle drawer so I don't want to keep cluttering it when it's really their only locked drawer :P

-Worked on the December bulletin board. Almost done, so I can get that out Wednesday.

-Maudj and Sehar asked about when they can shadow, but there's not really much going on right now so they might wait until January. I emailed them our schedule for this week if they change their mind.

-fixed our schedules, silly Edgar

-Pulled Maroons and everything that goes with it. Tickets are in the bottom drawer.

-Debbie has the Lights and Maroons to confirm. Maroons was off by 1 on our count. I learned last week that when you set it to inactive you can retrieve it again, but by doing so I activated all old ones that were inactive and it took me forever to sift through and fix it. It sucked.

-I messaged Sam back about the charity thing she FBed us about weeks ago, oops haha. I feel bad telling her 10%, but that's the rules.. we'll see what she says.

-I talked to Debbie about hours from here on out. We will be talking about it tomorrow. Basically we are just wrapping up, so I made a task list that needs to be done and we can delegate who can do what. I figured if you focus on the new website, I can focus on the IC manual since those are two big pains in the bum that she thinks now is a good time to do. It's a small list, but big tasks, so it is saved on the desktop if you think of anything to add.

-I emailed that basil person about the Yuk Yuk ticket they won. I told them if they don't respond by this friday then we will be selecting a new winner. We shall see.

-Today is the last day of collection for MFNSA. I will ask Karl maybe to take it out in the a.m.

See you tomorrow!

Thurs/Fri (athena)

- Don't remember what I did yesterday..... ??

- Anne never came by? Sent her another email and phoned her yesterday but didn't hear from her

- changed the powerpoint at the desk to hide a lot of the stuff we werent selling any more

- RMS down all day today. Pauline wasn't here. It was fun, I can't confirm any numbers or anything =(

- I literally had to stand there for 15 minutes at the accounting desk before I was able to actually physically get the HECFI cheque......on the bright side, I know that Stewart has a crazy aunt, younger siblings, his moms 45, his moms brother is older than her but she had kids before him so that's why his counsins are young....shall I continue?

- Rob picked up the cheque and tickets. He is interested in selling Arkells possibly. I suggesting combining sales through Al so that they can use Al's promoting power to get the word out there. I mentioned that we usually sell Arkells tickets cheap so unless they can get them discounted it might not be that successful

- had the maroons and world aids day tickets pulled and counted...then i read the email from Mukhtar asking to keep selling until today. I've tried to reach him a couple of times but couldn't. Basically I said we would sell until 6pm when the bus leaves, but he will have to wait until Monday to pick up the tickets since we won't be here over the weekend and the RMS was down all day today.

- yay, RMS is fixed (3:40pm) now. Check out the CSR page on facebook I posted a pic. Someone at the desk made a "BRB" sign for when people go to the bathroom lmao

- Aids gala people stopped by this morning, she was so nice! I had the tickets all ready to give her, and she looked so upset when I gave them to her. I tried to encourage her to keep selling and she said it was too bad we couldn't keep selling like she requested. I then realized she emailed us before I came in so I didnt see it! Put the tickets back on sale until Tuesday at close. She would like numbers on Monday night.

- I sent Al, Mukhtar, and Aids gala ticket numbers but they are not accurate because they don't include all of the shifts from today (manual RMS sales recorded, they're transferring them over now)

I tried to move some of the contracts into the "finished contracts binder" incl. sheepdogs. I added sticky notes to a bunch of the contracts at the front of our binder - some we need debbie to confirm numbers (LIGHTS, we are short three, karl confirmed both tills were short one), some we are waiting for the groups to pickup the cheque, and some we are waiting for the cheque to be sent through accounting.

- once debbie does the numbers for lights I need you to show me how to do the internal transfer over/under thingy please! dont let me forget!

Wednes (krystin)

- My bad about the HECFI, we did it as everyone was running out the door, so I forgot to edit it.

-Anne is coming by tomorrow to pick up the remaining 10 yellow tickets, the 1 green ticket that was switched for another (I added this full ticket to the contract as being returned, for 64 green tickets returned total). They are in the middle drawer with a pick up contract and the stubs.

-Debbie and I wiped down all of the tables, so I am going to decorate (Y)

-Updated Maroons and CANFAR

-Moustache Mash pulled their tickets. They don't want to sell anymore since it will be crazy in 1280 that night. She took her tickets and I just did up a cheque rec but accounting is now closed so I gave it to Debbie to sign and look at
Wednesday 23rd (Athena)

- I didn't realize you actually submitted the cheque for HECFI since your post said you were still waiting to hear from Rob. I called him twice more and didn't hear back and spoke to Marn about it who contacted her friend at HECFI. Anyways, I confimed that the cheque was processed and made them put it at the top of the file to be signed first.

- Confirmed numbers with rob. he will be coming at 11:30am on Friday morn to pick it up from me

- Spoke to Al after bunch of CSR's were flipping out about the Lights guest tickets being advertised as sold at the door on the MSU website. Confirmed that this would only be the case if we didnt sell out. We are almost sold out now.

- Sent numbers to maroons.

- At the end of your shift, please send numbers for CANFAR (aids day) and maroons formal (see the flagged emails)

- Fixed some broken links on the website. I didn't realize that the updated contract wasnt on the website at all, so I updated all of the links. Our contact page info was also incorrect. I reformatted the ticket selling page because it looked like crap. Still does, but it's slightly better now and the font isnt size 7 lol

Glad to see that people are actually reading the comm journal!

- We got a response from Jan from greyhound (i added it to the whiteboard). I flagged her email for you....Not really sure how this will work, we'll have to sort this all out.

 - Met with Pauline re the new website. She's going to try to get ORBIS to fix it but says she "wouldn't count on it"........?

- Found the HSR receipt that Debbie needed. Edgar had thrown it out and I saw it in the garbage when I stayed that night until like 7:30pm and pulled it out. Oops! I told Debbie I just found it in the locked cabinet......

 - no word from movember mash ppl

Yesterday & Today (krystin)

-Charity Ball everything is done and they are on sale. I had a mini panic attack when I came in today and saw that Al replied to my confirmation of 500 tickets with: "
Just to be sure,

student tickets-  500

Guests –                100

Total:                      600"

I called him in a panic, turns out he is dumb and thought I was talking about Lights, even though the Subject was Charity Ball Tickets.. phew. They are working on getting the 1500 more tickets ready soon, but for now they want to clear out the 500.

-I called Rick from 1280 4 more times and tried calling the MIX organizers with no luck, so I went down to 1280 to talk to him and he laughed when I mentioned why I was there because the girl he was talking to when I got there was talking to him about the event. I guess he tried calling them all week to cancel and just heard back from them that moment. As of 5 minutes before I got there he was adamant about cancelling, but they told him that they sold 200 tickets privately, so he decided to let them do it in a small part of 1280 and play their DJ at 1230 when the game and everything is over. So the event is still happening. People with tickets to MIX will not be charged the football cover at the door (but he suggested he may have a donation box for people to throw a buck or something into to pitch for cover). He then ranted about how much he hates third party events there and that he thinks only Al should be allow to do things there. The MIX girl will probably call back and leave a message.

-I pulled Sheepdogs, and when I went to do rec Marn said that the HECFI cheques have always been made out to the City of Hamilton, but on the contract it says to HECFI, but Marn doesn't want to open a new vendor code if it is not necessary, so I called Rob and left him a message asking him to call back asap to clarify. Cheques don't get processed until tomorrow, so we have time to wait for him before making a rash decision Hopefully he calls.
-As far as Framed tickets, I take everything off of the RMS after the event is over because the numbers don't mean anything. The numbers we confirm with Debbie are the numbers of tickets we have left. It's cluttered and confusing as a CSR to have to sift through senseless RMS items that are no longer applicable.

-Possible state of the union blurb?: "Compass has focused on promoting and advertising to the student body, with specific focus on ticket sales, services, and community involvement. Compass strives towards completion of the new, visually friendly website to be integrated with the new MSU website."
I dunno, it's hard to say everything that's going on in a short blurb. Feel free to do it over or change it all lol.

- I did the Magic Pass stuff. I voted against doing envelopes. They are sturdy tickets that look and are easier to work with in bundles of 10 just normal in the binder. Too many envelopes can cause confusion, and they're pretty stiff, I don't see an issue with them. Debbie suggested we highlight which tickets are on which till to speed up filling out the form when the CSR sells one, so they're all at the desk (none in the safe). They're not too bulky and there's not much else there right now. I just want to confirm, is this a monthly remit??? I got confused by the contract.

- We got our grand and toy stuff, then I realized we will need 2 of the mini stamps for the promo... oops haha I emailed transportation reps about the promo for next term stamp card. I sifted through old emails to get the emails of the people directly responsible to avoid being passed on for weeks. Hopefully we hear back from everyone soon :)

-Closure and opening dates were confirmed today so I added it and confirmed so it is now on the website, LCD, and a notice was posted at the desk.

Nov 21 (Athena)

- Received charity ball tickets. HAVE NOT counted to confirm numbers. Need to email Al to let him know whether or not tix numbers are accurate. Posted preliminary post for staff so that they know charity ball tix will be sold here

- confirmed niagara falls stuff with debbie, everything else needs to be done to get sales started asap. Need to make envelopes for each till for the tickets because they are like crappy paper rip-off tickets that look like coupons.

- gave debbie the stack of contracts she needs to look over. sorted them according to signature needed and numbers needed to be confirmed piles.

- dont know what happened with framed, but we ended up with 10 yellow tickets left over (in the small binder in our cupboard). I guess Anne changed her mind and didn't want to take them all. Checked the numbers with the RMS and indicated where we were off. Gave this to Deb to confirm. (Where are the numbers in the RMS for the 16th????)

- Took Yule ball off sale, hid the ppt slide for that and framed, took them both off of the website. Yule ball cheque rec done and waiting for Deb to sign. Numbers matched up though.

- Sheepdogs need to be taken off sale before we leave tomorrow and submitted for cheque rec immediately as he needs it friday morning. Whoever ends up submitting the cheque rec must write on the sheet that it must be signed first and processed first so its ready for pickup on Friday morning so accounting/duncan knows not to be slow.

- Edgar just informed me that we are physically short 6 tickets for Framed on Friday ????

- We have to try to contact Rick from 1280 at x24155. I've called three times and couldnt reach him. Left 2 messages. Basically he called to indicate that they might cancel movember mash because we made it to the nationals for football. EDIT - advertising for football on friday at 1280 -- if movember mash is cancelled or moved to another day we need to change ticket sales ASAP. Don't know what the situation is, if he is in contact with the event organizers or what.

Nov 17 (Athena)

- worked 1-2:20pm on the website mainly (to make up for me not being able to do my 4 hours tmrw)
- got the home page up and running for our old site, made sure the links/images all work
took your suggestion and got rid of all the new stuff images/links. Looks better now.

- Been working on the new website, check it out so far (WARNING. very preliminary stage lmao)
http://www.msumcmaster.ca/compass.htm

Thurs nov 17 (krystin)

I pulled the wayne hoffman stuff and updated the powerpoint/website. The Wayne Hoffman Internal transfer is completed and at the front with the other contracts to be confirmed by Debbie. Tickets in bottom drawer in manilla envelope with the Kardinal tickets.

-I started the Lights Internal Transfer to include the Guest ones that are finished, and it is saved in the ticket sales internal transfer folder saved as "Campus Events - Lights Concert Nov 11"

-I also added exam closure and exam hours of operation slides (we need the date of closure confirmed by debbie when she gets back so that one is hidden

-I made a winter december powerpoint, it is saved where it should be

-Someone sold a customer the wrong date, so they brought it back and Edgar told Muna to exchange it, but she did not put it in the RMS, so our numbers from here on out will be off and need to be given by Debbie. The returned ticket is paper clipped to the stub in the envelope with a note so Anne can know what happened when she does her rec. Also, I redid the contract to have all of the tickets there to fill out properly. I replaced the old one with it in our binder and gave a copy to Debbie under her door for when she does rec

-I did the December community events on the website

-I added that OSAP slide that the lady wanted.

-And now our mgmt meeting will begin shortly.

Wed (krystin)

-a girl came in named Sarah, and she was looking into ticket sales for next term. She is not a McMaster student (actually goes to Western) but she lives in Hamilton and heard that we sell tickets to students and faculty. Her mother passed away last year of breast cancer, and she was looking to do a charity event next semester when she is off of school for the year. She just wanted general info, I gave her a contract and explained that it would be 10% for external, so she said she will take it home and talk to her family about it. She doesn't even know if it will happen, but she figured she would stop by and ask (she went to the desk and they sent her up here) so we actually talked for like ever and not much else got done

-I asked the guy at the desk for the prices, and he was in the middle of photocopying so he told me to leave it on his desk, and he got it back to me like half hour later just before the office was closing, so I did not get it to Marn before she left. P.O. is on the desk.

-That's about it, I just coloured some stuff for the next bulletin board with what time I had left

Tuesday, November 15, 2011

Tues Nov 15 (Athena)
- AIDS day gala tickets put on sale, programmed in RMS, posted on bulletin board, distributed copies, and posted in comm journ. Un-hid and updated ppt at the desk to include the gala.

- sent out the g admast for realz. Pauline wants us to keep updating the msu calendar. Asked her about our stuff not showing up, we'll see what she says.

- spoke with marn about the niagara falls conditions because the tax remittance thing was weird. She said it shouldnt be a problem so we can go ahead with getting that stuff all ready.

Tuesday (krystin)

-We got the clues from Cindy about the scavenger hunt today (glad I remembered, totally forgot at first and didn't look in the mailbox), so I printed info sheets for CrystalEve who is working today and felicia who is working tomorrow. I brought them down with the clues, flyers, and the promo item box. Hopefully it runs smoother this time!

-I looked in our promo binder and found some great board stuff for winter, so next month's bulletin board should be good to go (with a few things to add). I just don't want to rush the snow thing until I can no longer wear flipflops...

- I cut out half of the name snowflakes and kept them in the red promo binder under December. I figure once it gets closer to December we can get staff to decorate them

And then you came, and here we are :)

Monday, November 14, 2011

Nov 14 (krystin)

-emailed debbie & SS accounts about new tickets (mfnsa, mix, yule), i found photocopies of the yule and mix contract in the bottom drawer, karl checked debbies office and she didn't have copies so I gave those ones to her
-filed contracts into binder, made makeshift tabs for them, (haha)
-MacReation came and picked up their cheque and copy of the contract, and I put the signed contract into the white binder
-I agree with those prices for the passes. I think that $1 might help, and it is still enough profit to make it worth it.
-Changed November part of the board to holiday-ness. It doesn't look all that festive, but whatever. I saved pics of the past boards under the bulletin board folder.
Monday (Athena)
- I didn't get to finish the powerpoints for moustache mash and yule ball, so I did that today. When I went by the desk at the start of my shift the ppt was stuck on the homepage and herry/danielle didn't notice lol. Will update the powerpoint down at the desk before I leave.

- Made a comm post re. MFNSA before I saw yours. Yours was better so I erased mine and kept yours. Desk copy is at the desk and the red/green till signs are up. They didn't send us a poster for the bulletin board so we should probably just make a quick one to let ppl know.

- took off the poppy slide.

- Went to bring our last poppy box + the msu's box to cheryl. she wasnt there so I asked her to call us back. Will try again tomorrow.

- Got a price quote for the grand and toy writable tabs since the front desk didn't have any for us to steal. They are $5.63 for a pack of three. I'll draw up a PO tomorrow. I have to go check what the serial code thing is for the tabs anyways, didn't write it down (oops).

- Whiteboards are updated with yule ball and moustache mash + maroons. EOD sheet also updated, MFNSA added.

- Added december passes to ppt.

- Still waiting on MIX to bring moustache tickets.
EDIT - dropped them off, counted 300 exactly. They are at the desk and on sale.

- Al picked up 100 wayne tickets from us today at ~2:30.

- Updated twitter and facebook re all our current ticket sales.

- updated Al re. ticket numbers and asked about getting in more lights guest tickets. He said once the guest tix are sold out thats it. Posted that on the website, LCD and comm journ.

- looked at the winter magic prices and sales from last year. Sold 0 child at 17.50 and 13 adult passes at 26.00. Remit prices are the same this year so I was thinking of doing 17.50 again and 25 for adults (just over 2 bucks added for both). What do you think?

Friday, November 11, 2011

TO DO:
- add GO app to website

- Met with Quidditch people and we have 150 tickets. They didn't fill out a contract or anything so we did it together. Advertised their stuff on the website, made copies of the contract, they will be sending us jpgs (for now I just pulled stuff from the internet). Updated comm journal, RMS, end of day, powerpoint.

- Met with Anne, she was upset we didnt sell any tickets for tomorrow, but again shes pulling them early so yeah. pickup contract attached to the contract. She came early and caught me off guard stuffing my face with jolly ranchers because I didnt have time to eat lunch lmao

- I saw your MFNSA thingy on the website...nice *thumbs up*

- when i came in for the morning portion of my shift ashley's greyhound was deleted so she had to keep sending ppl to muna. I called greyhound to get hers fixed and he did, then I asked if there were any other expired accounts and there were NINE more! Went through the process of resetting them all because edgar/karl werent in. Informed edgar who emailed everyone reminding them to reset their password each month.

Thursday, November 10, 2011

Nov 10 (krystin)

-the gala people dropped off their tickets in our mail box, and karl found them, so I emailed them not to do that. They are counted. I made the ppt for it (hidden) photocopies have been made, poster is there, its in the EOD and on float. Tickets are in the bottom drawer

-I made pick up contracts up for framed. Theyre attached to the contract

-Murder Mystery tickets are a go (Y)

-got rid of the bulldogs stuff. The started cheque rec is in the binder with the contract. I figure we might as well wait for debbie for that too. Blah, we made a whole $0.90 haha. Tickets in the drawer, media stuff taken off.

-It looks like MacReation will be by tomorrow sometime to pick up their cheque and probably talk about the refund thing too. There is no reason for us to help pay for anything, the customer should have called them, plain and simple I think.

-I also made template win/lose things for the CAW. Once we know how many wins we need we can do those, but for lose, I figure we can photocopy a bunch

Wednesday, November 9, 2011

Nov 9 (krystin)

-added the breakdance guys thing to the community events as well

-emailed pauline. compass.msumcmaster.ca no longer redirects to our page, so I was looking to get that fixed. She did it right away, it was probably because of us deleting and adding tabs and stuff, so the main page changed.

-everything should now almost be ready for the MFNSA collection. I made a slide (hidden), did photocopies and gave one to debbie (desk one still up here), made a draft commJ post on here that can be copied and pasted to the other commJ Friday evening or something, emailed re posters, made an info sheet for both tills, and all that has to be done is to add it to the RMS. I put it on website with the dates it runs.

-I also deleted the copy of the slideshow from the main 2011-2012 page... I don't want us to update one and the other use the other, and the two were different, so I say we stick to going through all the way to the Powerpoints link. I also deleted October hidden slides from the November ppt since theyre in the Oct one and aren't necessary (this will help next year staff with transition to see what happened month to month)

(DRAFT FOR COMM J) MFNSA Holiday Toy Drive $1 Collection

The McMaster First Nations Students Association (MFNSA) has been a club on campus for twenty-two years.

MFNSA organizes an annual Christmas toy drive to help support First Nations communities and children in need during the holidays.  They have done this toy drive since the inception of MFNSA in 1989. While their main focus is toys they also wish to be able to provide non-perishable food items to families in Hamilton

Last year, the Compass staff raised $1300 for the cause!!!

SOOOOO!!

We would greatly appreciate it if when you complete a sale that you ask your customer if they would be willing to donate a dollar to help us purchase toys for children in need.

This will be running from Monday Nov 14-Nov 28 (2 weeks)

A PRIZE WILL BE GIVEN TO THE CSR WHO COLLECTS THE MOST MONEY!
November 9th (Athena)

- So I'm never going to come in early again lol. When I came in early on Friday I got killed by those tickets and stuff from Debbie, and when i came in early today all hell broke loose lol. Greyhound machine was down and now prepay wasn't working. Fixed now prepaid after like half an hour on the phone with them (edgar and karl couldn't be reached) and greyhound is still messed up. I think the guys played around with the printer settings and now it's not being recognized

- I didn't see a folder or return label for Screemers anywhere that's why I didnt think it needed to be mailed. I had asked Deb when I picked up the cheque and contacted Roseanna from screemers and both told me they would come pick it up. ???

- I called Jonathan back (who also emailed us re. the breakdancing club) Put his stuff on the website under community events and advised him to use the MSU calendar.

- Put up the posters for Lights, Sheepdogs, and Wayne Hoffman on the bulletin board at the desk.

- Got poppies for the red till and brought back the two other boxes that had no poppies left.

- Added sheepdogs to MSU calendar

- Started to fill out RIS request (for res screens). Need to make two ppt slides.

- Made a new G-admast with everything. Hopefully will help to increase bulldogs and sheepdogs tix.

- Filed all of the framed tickets that were sold yesterday.

Tuesday, November 8, 2011

Nov 8 (krystin)

-I just realized today that when the cheque came in for Screemers you did not mail it out, so I did that today (hopefully it's not late :S The contract said they needed to receive it via mail by a certain date, which is why I had the tickets and shipping envelope ready for when the cheque was ready)

-Fraser came to get his tickets and sheet

-Emailed Macreation and Parrish again about cheque pick up. Parrish came by, but I was scrambling and couldn't find the contract for him to sign, so he said he will email us that he picked it up so that we can print it and attach to the contract.

-counted Kardinal tickets, we are short 3 student, so we need Karl/Edgar to use rec to get actual numbers (I have on the sheet attached to the contract the verified numbers from Debbie as of the 3rd, so we need from then on. The contract is with the tickets in the Manilla envelope in the drawer. I asked Edgar but he doesn't know what to do. EDIT: We got the numbers from Edgar and Karl, they even out in the end, so I did the internal transfer, it is attached to the contract with the tickets, I just don't know if Marn should sign it and submit it or if we should wait for Debbie?

- We got numbers from them for Football too, since ours was off, and theirs was even more off, so I think we should leave this for when Debbie gets back. Contract is still in front of purple binder

-updated the EOD to include new tickets and the public framed and nov 19th ones

-I put all of our in the works contracts in a folder at the front of the binder because loose papers are driving me insane haha

-got all of the media stuff done for Framed finally
November 8th (athena)

- EDIT did the powerpoint for framed, also did one for the maroons formal but it needs a picture and details (ie. ticket price, student only, etc.)

- Met with Anne, she brought us 120 (also yellow) tickets for November 19th. Added these to the desk and in the comm journal post.

- Made an envelope for Karl and Edgar to use when they collect the stubs for Framed from the deposits. Its in the second drawer and has a chart on it so they could fill in which day had how many ticket stubs of each type. I figure this was easiest since im sure its going to be hell trying to do rec with these.

- working on the powerpoint now

- Added a second page to the contract for framed because the tickets wouldnt all fit and we are going to need the space when doing rec anyways

- also, when i met with Anne I discussed having the tickets on sale right until show time otherwise we would be losing lots of sales to them. She agreed but doesnt know if she could trust her staff to pickup tickets lol. She will email us and let us know.

- i emailed Al about sending us a poster for wayne and lights to put on our really empty bulletin board. waiting to hear back, maybe you can give him a call please? :)

- my bad about the schedule, totally effed that up. I thought it was last weeks because i told edgar to leave it up since I knew i would have to adjust my friday hours for staying late. oops.

Monday (krystin)

Funny story, I posted this on the other comm j and didnt notice for like 15 mins.... oops.....

Today was dumb, this framed thing meant i did nothing else all shift. She brought the tickets, I had to count them all which was dumb, theres like 800. There are 7 different dates, but she only has 6 of them ticketed for us now (printer screwed up the one set). I put them in the small ticket binder to avoid confusion., to be sold only on red for now. I made a step by step sheet on how to sell them (ripping off stub etc.).... this lady was dumb and didnt tell me anything and told me they were all $10 but the tickets said $18 for regular, so i had to email her, and basically each ticket needs to be circled and sold for whatever the person is. I didnt get any of the media stuff done for it either, just the comm j and float sheet (and RMS obvi). So frustrating. I'll do it tomorrow.

Muhktar from Maroons brought the contract for their murder mystery so we can get it ready before tickets are ready (he thinks Wednesday he can bring them to us).

I pulled Kardi tickets from red and the safe and didnt think to check green, and now I'm locked out of the committee room and can't do anything else. The ones are pulled are in the locked cabinet, I haven't counted them or anything.

Fraser came to get Oktoberfest tix before I got here, so I emailed him and left them in our drop box for him.

Parrish called, they are only selling the western game at the Maroon shop. $20 includes bus there.

I have a headache and a 10 page essay due tomorrow. Shoot me.

Monday November 7th (Athena)
- Expect a call from Parrish re. the final game at Western this weekend. I called to see if we can get tickets to sell, lots of people have been asking about it so keep an eye on our phone inbox.

- Life is beautiful (bulldogs) came by to pick up 32 tickets, signed paper is stapled to the contract

- Updated float sheet and printed and brought them down

- Updated powerpoint, took off sam roberts, made (but hid) slide for framed, made slides for lights, wayne hoffman, and something else i cant remember

- updated website re. the above tickets

- did comm post for lights and wayne
- made envelopes for each ticket type for red and green binders, tickets now at the desk

- Fraser from oktoberfest is coming in this afternoon (didnt say a time) to pickup leftover tickets and guest sheet which is in the manilla envelope in the locked cupboard

- Parrish needs to come pick up his cheque, he said he would get it this week

- Niagara winter passes have been counted, contract made, added to float sheet, BUT we need to decide on prices. Need to look at prices from last year. Until that's decided, keep them in the shoe box in the locked drawer.

- got Sehar to update the board at the desk with an MSU calendar of events. Will add LIGHTS and wayne to it.

- Powerpoint updated at the desk, called the November copy lol

- End of day sheet needs to be updated

- NEED TO DO:
Use the counts debbie made on the paper taped to the inside of the IC binder to cross reference our sales of Kardinal and football. Make cheque recs if the numbers match, if not make a breakdown on a paper and add it to the contract for when she comes back.

Make powerpoint slides/website/comm post re. aids gala tickets (they are getting it confirmed by EOHSS)

Nov 4th (Athena)

Omg I actually died today. We had the Niagara falls tickets come in, Al brought three types of tickets in (shoebox style) and I was running around with his kardinal stuff too, Parrish and the football stuff was hectic, and we had a random group drop off tickets to our mailbox so Deb was peeved, also got another complaint from the same customer re. macreation.BAHH its almost 7 and I am still here....on a friday night.....in the committee room alone.

  • Had to organize and count all of Al's tickets for Lights (student) because the serial numbers were messed up and I had to rebundle all of them (the first package was off by 3 tickets so the serial numbers for ALL the subsequent packages were off, plus random ones were missing)
    • counted and bundled them all
    • made copies of the contract
    • placed in labelled envelopes for the safe
  • same thing for guest tickets for Lights
    • counted and bundled them
    • made copies of contract
    • placed in labelled envelope for the safe
  • Al picked up 100 more kardinal tickets, wanted me to keep them on sale until 8pm, doesnt need the extra tickets back so he will get them when he picks up his cheque
    • will verbally tell Sehar to stop selling them at 8, people will have to buy them at the door
  • We almost sold out of football tickets this morning before noon but I convinced parrish to give us more (he wanted us originally to just tell people to go to the maroons shop) so he gave us 200 more at 2pm-ish
    • he will pick the remaining tickets up at 2pm tomorrow (sat). I left a ticket pickup contract with felicia and wrote her a note.
  •
  • Will have to make labelled envelopes for red and green tills this Monday for Lights student, Lights guest, Niagara, and wayne whatever his name is

Customer Appreciation

So Debbie suggested that instead of two customer appreciation days, we do a whole customer appreciation week the first week back when people are back and excited to be back.

This means we would decorate the desk with balloons, streamers etc. And we will do raffles for YukYuks then. We discussed maybe making draw tickets, and however many tickets we have to give away, we make WIN tickets and the rest TRY AGAIN and then every time someone buys something they can pick a ticket from the bucket and if they get a win one they get the ticket. And then each day one of you or I can work one hour at the side table beside the desk giving out swag and stuff.
We can talk about it when it gets closer about specifics.

And then next term we can do a transportation promo by asking  them for free tickets etc and do the stamp card again this year, but this time actually have stamps, not the darn stickers lol

Just some things we tossed around :)

Krystin

The hour before the desk Nov 3

-Emailed back MIX about the Movember thing (I got the feeling they didn't know what we do and want donated help, but I let them know that if we do sell tickets, its 3%)
-added the Remembrance day memo from Debbie to comm journal and bulletin board.
-Siobhan told me to throw out her extra tickets, so I also emailed Fraser to see if I can get rid of his tickets and the guest list.
-Emailed the Basil persona about YukYuks again. If we don't hear back soon I say we pick another name.
-Off to the desk I go, see you in an hour and a half.

Wednesday

-Returned that girl's water bottle. She wanted money, not a new one.

-Emailed Ridaa about the banner.

-Finished the last details of the board and put it up

-Humanities girl was going to pull tickets today since the event is tomorrow because the hall wanted numbers, but now she wants to sell tomorrow too. I let her know to give us an exact time to pull them, and that we are done here at 2 so preferably before then.

-I came up after the board and realized that it was after 5 and I was locked out. Dumb dumb. I had to wait around for someone to come who could let me in. Grrz.

-I started colouring the holidays section of the board, I figure a bit every shift will do. And then we have to start planning out next terms boards now that things are slowed down.

-The LCD was adjusted. You had that it was $8.00 general admission, but it's student tickets only that are $8.00
November 2nd (Athena)

- Finally picked up poopies.....
- Messaged Rob re. cheque situation, should expect an email back from him.
- Al picked up 150 Kardinal tickets today, also asked him about putting in a plug for our concerts and let him know he can pick up the internal transfer sheet
- Quiditch person will come in on Thurs or Friday
- some other stuff

TO DO: Message Ridaa (works with pauline) and ask her to make a banner for the hecfi stuff. See my email from before!

Tuesday (krystin)

-Pulled tickets and contracts for Screemers and Halloween Haunt

-Cheque rec are done and in for Screemers and MacReation. MacReation is standard, but take a look at the Screemers cheque rec for the additional line. From now on, whenever we do cheque recs for anything other than MSU clubs and departments, we need to split commission into commission (the 3005 line) and the HST (2501 line), and combined they will add up to the full commission.

-I went through Ticketmaster for the Sheepdogs after reading Robs email back, and with taxes and fees, the online price is $35.94 approximately, so I went with a price of $30.00 so we can make some money lol

-LCD EOD, and Website Updated

-Flu Shot slide was sent to us from Campus Health, and I put it up.

-Updates sent to Parrish, Al, and Amanda

-We decided to sell the new umbrellas for the same price ($16 with tax included)

-New floats are down there
-Poppy lady called Debbie, she will get those to us as soon as she can

TO DO:
Change boards (I can do tomorrow)
Ask about a banner for the 2 HECFI concerts
Ask Al if he can maybe mention the concerts in his plugs
